This program is an add-on for the BOINC project, similar to the SETI@home I tool called SetiWatch. It can watch all BOINC clients throughout a network and lists all informations about these clients. The program can also log BOINC specific results.
Like the BOINC client itself, BoincView is project independent.
For news and comments about BoincView, you can visit the BoincView weblog.
Every BOINC client is represented by its location. If you want informations about a client or all of them just select the location at the locations tree. The Locations tree has a popup which can be used to add, remove, rename or setup locations.
The available informations about the clients are the projects, hosts, results, transfers and messages ...
The project tab lists all projects where the selected clients are logged in. The number of credits depends on the
highest value found in the client records and may not have the same amount displayed at the user page. The hosts
tab lists all the different host informations. There should be only one host info per client. At the results tab
the workunits, results and active tasks are listed. Nearly the same as the BOINC client shows.
The Completed tab will list the content of the boinc_log.csv, this file has to be in the log folder.
Nearly all grids can be customized. Right-clicking at the header will open a popup menu, where the columns can be enabled or disabled. A left-click at a columns header will sort the grid by that column and a second left-click will change the sort direction.
The color of the icon can change to show different states of the clients. Double-clicking the icon will open the main window if it is
minimized. A right-click will open a popup menu with some functionality to setup the program or refresh the data.
